In the Bleak Midwinter

I am so glad I arranged my first year law courses the way I did - interesting ones in my first year, "other" in my second year. Because I swear, if I had done Contracts and Property last year, I would have been fully convinced that law school was just not for me and I would have dropped out within the first month.

I am so gutwrenchingly bored it's hard to describe it. So I won't. I will, however, happily share my pain :)

This is what I've been working on for days and days, god help me. My Contracts Summary. I must have been a serial old-lady-insulter in my previous life, and this is my punishment.

Daniel finished reading his very first book all by himself yesterday. I helped him remember rules, like silent e and the sound of "th", but he deciphered every single word on his own. For the record, the book was Little Critter Sleeps Over. I'm so proud of him!

And I asked him the other day what exactly he remembered from the Harriet Tubman book we read. Happily, I wrote it all down, because he remembered a heck of a lot more than I thought he would. In case anyone's interested, his answer is at Harriet Tubman Oral Report.

Also finished putting up some pix, mostly just Halloween and the Gatineaus, but there's also one of the boys and their friend Khoi washing our car this summer.
