Spent a lot of last night waking up and helping Justin to puke. He was feeling a lot better in the morning, but I was not exactly geared up for an exam with five hours interrupted sleep and slight nausea myself.

Got to school late. Had to dig out and chip out my car from the snow and ice (I love Canada). It snowed all night, the Queensway was moving at about 20kph (that's roughly 12.5mph), a trip that usually takes 20 min took 45. Got to the exam room 10 min late (AUUGGHH!!) because it was not in the law building. Happily, the proctors were also late :) Started the exam 20 minutes late, ended it late too, then had to rush to pick up Chris to give him back the car. Got there late, because I took the wrong turn on the Queensway. Blah. Gave him the car, then took the bus home. Waiting about 45 minutes in the cold - which CBC Weather says is only -5.4C, windchill -16.4C (that's 23F and 2.5F), but damn, it felt a lot colder!

Hot chocolate. Soooo nice.

I think I may have done really well on that exam. Maybe the sleep deprivation and slight nausea is causing me to hallucinate, but I really felt like it was all very, very straightforward and simple. I hope I was right.

I wonder if I counted all the pages in the exam handout...

Compassionate Society Should Discourage Deadly Homosexual Behavior

by Gary Glenn
State Director, AFA of Michigan

Society imposes significant social and legal restrictions on -- and spends millions of dollars urging Americans, particularly children, to avoid -- life-threatening behavioral choices such as smoking, drug abuse, and drunk driving.

This rational, logical, common sense commitment to protecting our children from life-threatening activity is irrationally discarded, however, concerning the deadly practice of homosexual behavior. With the ready compliance of negligently pandering, enabling politicians and bureaucrats -- particularly in public schools -- homosexual activists are dead set on teaching our children "it's O.K. to be gay."

The N.E. Journal of Medicine reports that men who smoke risk cutting 7.3 years off their lives.

Oxford University's International Journal of Epidemiology reports: "Life expectancy at age 20 years for gay and bisexual men is 8 to 20 years less than for all men. If the same pattern of mortality continues, we estimate that nearly half of gay and bisexual men currently aged 20 will not reach their 65th birthday."

Judging by the number of years at risk, homosexual activity is up to three times deadlier than smoking.

Society irrationally nonetheless condemns and restricts the lesser threat, while contemplating laws to protect and force acceptance of the greater. The Boy Scouts are viciously attacked for daring to stand firm to protect youngsters from exposure to such deadly behavior. Paid homosexual activists are invited into our classrooms -- as young as first grade, one Detroit activist boasts - to offer our kids an early death by teaching them "How to be Gay."

blah blah stats )

If we truly care about persons ensnared in the homosexual lifestyle, and others their high-risk behavior threatens, should society play the role of "enabler" and tell them it's only "natural" to continue their self-destructive activity?

Certainly not. True compassion for our fellow man requires us instead to discourage such life-threatening choices, to firmly stand and defend our society, our families and children from political activists aggressively demanding we normalize, legitimize, promote, and protect homosexual behavior, despite its deadly threat to personal and public health.

That's how we'd react to anyone we care about, who's convinced themselves -- or tells our kids -- that it's O.K. to smoke, do drugs, drive drunk, or play Russian Roulette.
