I feel like it's Christmas again :) :) :) :)

I heard that TNT was going to broadcast the LA Trilogy on Sunday, and I was a little down because we don't get TNT here and my own Trilogy tape is getting a little grainy. I've been trying for ages to get screen caps of a couple of scenes in the Trilogy, to go with the story I wrote around it. I've learned a great deal about my camera in the process, but it's been somewhat discouraging - the pictures are too dark, or they have a glare, or they're too blurry, or or or. And I can't freeze the frames because our VCR doesn't do that, and I can't use our digital camera because the images are too blurry. So I've used up about 5 pics on each roll of film we've developed in the last six months or so, waited until the roll is ready to process and I remember to take it in and remember to pick it up... only to be disappointed again.

So I heard about the TNT airing and wondered if anybody who had TiVo and could do screen caps a little more easily than I could. Asked [livejournal.com profile] cassatt, who agreed (YAAAY!!!) and took a whole bunch of pics and sent them to me and (if this was oral I'd ask you all to cover your ears) I NOW HAVE ABOUT 14 LOVELY SCREEN CAPS!!! BETTER QUALITY THAN I EVER EXPECTED!!

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!

I'm such a geek. But I'm a happy geek. A very, very happy geek :)

Kids sleeping. Chris on call. Just me and my little screen again, and my joyous downloading of my shiny new screen caps :) :)

Saw my Contracts prof re. my exam, and there wasn't anything shocking there. My main problem was that I knew the case law, but just didn't tie in the facts of each case to the case law. Duh. OK, I'll know better for the final. I mean, I knew better before the midterm, but just couldn't push myself to care, even while I was writing the exam. I'll figure out some way to care before April... I hope ;)

In the meantime, I am at least keeping up with my readings, and even pulling ahead a little. My hope is to be two weeks ahead by the time I go under the knife. Yeah, I know, commence derisive laughter here.

Asked Daniel what he remembered of The Midwife's Apprentice yesterday, like I did for the Harriet Tubman book. Here's what he said:

Daniel's second oral book report: The Midwife's Apprentice, by Karen Cushman )

The wonders of lj are many. Through [livejournal.com profile] sangerin's lj I've just been introduced to a job interview site that I will have to remember to visit next time I'm looking for a job/articling position. It focusses on one of the most dreaded/overlooked part of the interview, when the interviewers ask the interviewee, "Do you have any questions for us?"

My favourite part - not for usefulness, but just to feel better about myself because at least I've never been this stupid: The Dumb Dozen: 12 Dumb Questions Candidates Actually Asked )
