Whee. Just finished playing our third game (third adventure) of
D&D with the boys. Justin likes it, but Daniel is absolutely enchanted. Chris thinks we should post a notice at our local comic book shop seeing if any other local kids are interested in joining us for D&D on weekends.
We're such geeks. And so very proud of it ;)

Drabble on request!Leave a comment here with a drabble request, pairing or character-based. Give me one line of dialogue to be written in a drabble/ficlet (100-500 words). After you comment, put this meme in your own journal (if you want).
What I could do well:Law & Order
The X-Files (sorry, only up to the Mulder years)
Queer As Folk (USA)
Homicide: Life on the Street
Anything else, I am not confident enough to try.
***Spent some time with at
Amit and Jeea's house yesterday. My god their little one is cute. She's all big dark eyes and curly black hair, and a high little voice.
Good visit, albeit kind of sad. Jeea lost her dad several years ago, Amit lost his two months ago and I lost my mother a week ago. So the conversation naturally drifted towards the rather morbid. But in a good way, not in a "buck up and be strong" kind of way. And I have to say, as tough as it is dealing with my mother's death... at least I was prepared. Both Amit and Jeea lost their dads from one day to the next. A hell of a lot harder to cope with, I'd say.
***OK weekend, overall. I have a ton of e-mails, cards, letters, and phone calls to return, but I think I'll make myself a list and start going through them one by one rather than just stressing about an unknown number.
And it's been a good weekend, family-wise. Spent some good quality time together, walking in the woods, playing D&D, etc. Spent some good time with Chris' dad and his girlfriend, and Chris' brother and sister-in-law. Went with Guy to the Cancer ward, to drop off my mother's funeral bouquets. It felt like a very gentle coming-down kind of time.
***Also getting ready to go to
Spanish camp, which starts tomorrow. I sure hope the kids like it as much as Daniel liked it last year.
( To Do List: )***Here's the
song that we played in the middle of my mom's funeral. It's one of the first songs I remember singing as a child.
( Gracias a la Vida, by Violeta Parra )
