neonnurse and I have no interests in common except fanfic, and no friends in common except kaylarudbek. No problem :)

The first thing I learned from neonnurse's flist is that a flist of 333 people is actually not an insane madhouse :) Yeah, there's a lot there, and I wasn't able to read each and every post in close detail and make witty incisive insightful comments on each one (in fact, I think my wittiest remark was "ROFL!") but I got an overall feel for neonnurse's world.

And discovered a lot of neato stuff in the process.

Like for example, and damn I wish I could remember whose post this came from, Askmen.com has an honest-to-god article on Alternatives To Shaving Your Genitals. Best quote? Re. waxing: "I'm here to tell you that it really is as painful as "they" say."

Read about dalbino83, who re-connected with a high school friend who reminded me a lot of my own high school best friend - minus the intensity of the competition for marks. Very cool :) It's so incredibly important for bright kids to have somebody who doesn't look at them like they're from Mars for wanting to learn.

Got utterly confused by one post that appeared to be some arrogant idiot asking for advice; this prat started off by describing himself as a "billionaire playboy" and blithering on about Porsches and wha... ? Who talks like that?

Then I clued in. sages_of_chaos. "Wisdom from Metafandom" - advice for the lovelorn/lost/etc from members of multiverse. When I saw that the Altruistic Advisers included Gimli, Legolas, Captain Jack Sparrow, Jago the Ateva Assassin, and Dana Scully, I joined :)

Even if, like me, you will never need to use contraceptives, don't toss them all out; sjo has taught me that they have other uses:

larpwriting and I are playing with latex and condoms, and mixing up a big bowl of J-Lube. "Ooh, it's having trouble going in," sez larpwriting. Regrettably, this may not be as exciting as it sounds. We're creating a prop for Arctic.
