London flashback
Apr. 24th, 2005 02:34 pmWhen Daniel was about 4, he was invited to a friend's birthday party and went directly from there to Sarah's house (for some reason, we couldn't pick him up from the party). Sarah told us when we came to get him that he'd spent the entire 2 hours since the party talking about the party, almost without taking a breath, while her daughter Sandra tried to break in with no success whatsoever.
"... and there was cake and it was so much cake and the balloons were all over the place and Olivier was opening his presents and there were a lot of presents but then the one present that was really cool was not the biggest one but the biggest one-"
"Dani-"
"was pretty cool too but it wasn't as cool as the one that I gave him but there were a-"
"Can I-"
"lot of other presents and the baby didn't get any presents because it wasn't his party and then we sang some songs and I didn't know there were songs in French-"
"D-"
"but Olivier's parents are French but they speak some English and then the cake had a lot of icing and their house is like ours but it only has two bedrooms upstairs and ours has three bedrooms and..."
Years later, he's still the same kid. Just came back from a birthday party, chattering a mile a minute, and Justin has given up and walked away from him but Daniel is still talking.

In other news, I would like my internets back. I've been without my lovely bookmarks for about two weeks now, and I miss being able to quickly skip around to my non-lj friends' blogs as I used to in days of yore. Talking to Sarah yesterday brought back how much we all miss her and her family, and how nice it is to get glimpses into their lives on a regular basis.
::sniff::
So that's my project for this coming week: dusting the cobwebs off my little corner of the ether.
