it's a beautiful day in the neighbourhood

It's a lovely bright springy Victoria Day weekend and Chris is going to spend it mostly indoors. And he's quite delighted.

There's a gaming convention going on this weekend, you see. And it's Chris' birthday. And he's celebrating by spending all evening yesterday playing Call of Cthulhu, 9AM-11PM today playing D&D, and 9AM-6PM tomorrow with D&D and Carcasonne. Daniel gets to play in kid-games today too. They're both terminally thrilled about the whole thing, so much so that their enthusiasm is contagious and Justin and I are all atwitter too because we get to go and watch :)

Daniel: Mama, we can't open it from the inside any more.
Me (opening from the outside): Oh, darn. The child-lock is on. Do either of you know where the child-lock thing is?
Justin: (reaching into a hole on the side of the door and flicking a switch) It's this little bugger.
Daniel (opening the door from the inside) Wow. He can get through tough locks. Justin's a Rogue.
