morning report

• Today's Discovery of the Obvious: a brand new razor shaves much closer and faster than a razor left over from last summer, especially if that same razor was used to remove all wintergrowth. Just sayin'.
  
  
• Chris should do more gaming. He was all happy glowy last night after a full weekend geeking away at CanGames 2005.
  
  
• Guy and his daughter Guylaine were over for dinner last night. Discovered that making one apple pie, to share among four adults and two children, is very good for my diet. Anything else is just begging for diet abuse.
  
  
• Speaking of diet abuse, I'm going to start posting my daily points. Pay no heed to them. It's just an additional incentive for me to actually follow my diet conscientiously.
  
  
• Am also going to ask for help with the thursday100plus web site; I appear to have no will power when it comes to forcing myself to make challenge pages and convert text files into HTML.

Mì Chay Noodles

Ingredients:
Wheat flour, Water, Lye, Vegetable oil.

Usage:
Put the noodle into boiling water, to simmer 2 minues the noodle will automatic splitting, then stir the noodle adding oil and vegetable, it is more taste it can do as pan fry noodle, clipping up the noodle, after the water dried it can then fry.

I adore the fact that my kids are old enough that they can entertain themselves for long periods of time. While Chris slept off CanGames and I cross-stitched, they played Monopoly. Justin learned the concept of "gracious winner". Well - Justin was introduced to the concept of "gracious winner." Judging from the fact that I just heard him bounce past singing "I won Monopoly, I WON I WON I WON", I don't think he's quite got the hang of it yet.

Nearly aneurysmed myself last night following a fanfic rec link: Revenge of the Fan Fiction Husbands. It's sort of LOTR/LotRiPS, but it's not what you think. Viggo Mortenson, Orlando Bloom, et. al. make no appearance here. I actually have no personal knowledge of the real folks who do show up, and I'm sure I'm missing about 90% of the humour, but I still giggled like an idiot at the following ( snippet )

Made myself a nice shiny new animated icon, for use on those days when you just really wish you could let fly and give some SOB what's coming to them... and then found out that it was too big to upload to lj. I thought the limit was 100K. It's 40K. ::sniffle::
