(Not) Going Back To School Picnic
Sep. 5th, 2006 10:42 pmThird time I've gone to this thing, and I like it better every year. It helps when you know a lot of the people there already. Makes meeting new people far less daunting.
Daniel had a great time, played with other kids, I talked to oodles of (mostly) moms, there were at least 5-6 other little boys with long hair, the shared dessert table was plagued by an aggressive seagull, a fine time was had by all, and the best part for me was near the end of the picnic, when most of the other kids had gone home and Chris showed up with Justin (fresh from his first day of grade 1) Daniel jumped up and said "JUSTIN!! YAY!" and ran towards him, and Justin gave a big grin and ran towards Daniel, and they had a big hug and started to play as if they were best friends who hadn't seen each other in months instead of brothers who have been getting on each other's nerves with distressing regularity over the summer.
In other news, Justin apparently had a good first day, barring a few time-outs and such. Met lots of kids to play with. Has the same teacher Daniel had for Grade 1. Which is good :)
And I start Evidence on Thursday. I think. Hm. Best check that. Before Thursday.
