- Chris: How was your day?
Me: Good. I'm really tired, though. I don't know why.
Chris: Why, what did you do today?
Me: We did some lessons in the morning, then there was the home schooling curriculum sale, then we watched the home schooling play, hung out with Anne and her family, went to the pool for the boys' swimming lessons, went to Toys 'R Us to buy presents for Matthew and Ryan's parties, then came home.
Chris: ... and you're wondering why you're tired? - Pretty good day, though busy. Home schooling play was good, though a wee bit long and I'm not entirely sure the words damn, hell, Jesus, and, most memorably, douchebag, were entirely appropriate for a children's play. Most of the kids in it were over ten, but the audience wasn't. ::shrug:: Overall, good play, though. And nice to see old friends again. ::waves:: Hi, Anne!
- Sometimes it's nice to be oblivious, other times it's kinda sad. I started to tell Chris about an e-mail exchange that had left me feeling a bit off, and within a few paragraphs he had commented, "Bit racist, is she?" about the person I was corresponding with.
Um, yeah... the sad part was, I've been corresponding with her for a pretty long time, and had only just reached that stunning conclusion that very day. Felt a bit thick, actually. - Wonderful moment with Marie the other day, when she asked, "So is your family following the whole Stanley Cup thing, with the Senators and the... um..."
"The team from California, isn't it?"
"Yeah - the Ducks! That's who it is!"
"Right! The Ducks!"
Pause.
"Yeah, no, not so much." - Ottawa U won't give me my marks until I pay off my staggering debt. They're very serious about it, and want me to know that if I have trouble paying it off, there are options available. I'm very interested to hear what those options are, as my staggering debt is $8.31.
