Kid-related
Apr. 17th, 2008 12:11 am- Justin is sick. Fell asleep before dinner, and only ate one slice of pizza after he was woken up :(
- Daniel is still little enough to be "fuzzy" when he wakes up late at night, goes pee, and comes into the study to give me a kiss goodnight :)
- A couple from my choir (alto + tenor) brought their baby in to rehearsal tonight. Three months old. OMGcute.
- We are not having the most amazing success with the culinary arts part of Justin's curriculum. Last year when we did Geography, we took a trip around the world and made food from each continent. It was great; Moroccan shish-kebabs, French puffy cheesy pastry things, Antarctican cookies with more sugar & fat per square centimetre than any other food on earth, etc. This year we're doing history, and I thought it might be a good idea, as we're studying ancient Greece, to make Greek stuff.
I've really liked it. So has Chris. But aside from the lamb stew, Justin and Daniel have not. Leeks & tomato stew, okra, meatballs avgolemono, smashed eggs, broccoli with butter sauce, crockpot meat from Sifnos island, and today's experiment, barley flavoured with honey, have all been failures.
Happily, Justin's so food-oriented he keeps trying. And he's not terribly upset about not liking food he made, as long as somebody else likes it and he doesn't have to eat it.
