My little guy went pseudo-babysitting today.
ninja_kat and Mr.
ninja_kat had home stuff that needed doing, so Justin went to keep
ninja_kat Jr. company, incredibly proud that he would be asked to look after a little kid when he's only eight himself. I was a little nervous, because although he loves little kids in general and
ninja_kat Jr. in particular, and is mostly a pretty responsible kid, he is also eight. Eight year old boys are not generally known for boundless patience or maturity or stick-to-it-iveness. I was pretty sure he'd be able to entertain
ninja_kat Jr. for an hour or so, and hopefully more, but we had told him to ask if he could be taken home if it wasn't going well.
He was there for the morning, had a lot of fun, was apparently very helpful in keeping the little guy happy, and was asked if he wanted to do it again next week. Which he very proudly agreed to do, despite the fact that pseudo-babysitting a three-year-old, as he told
ninja_kat, was "a
lot harder than I thought it would be."
As he also told me, later on, "it was also a lot more fun than I thought it would be!"
♥♥♥♥♥ my not-so-little guy.
