random blipping through life...
Oct. 7th, 2010 10:44 pm- There's a ladybug on my keyboard. I would tell her to fly away home, but I don't know where home is. And are there still supposed to be ladybugs around at this time of year?
- Does anybody know how long Canada geese are supposed to be flying south? 'Cause it seems to me like they've been going overhead for, like, weeks.
- Helped someone get a conditional sentence yesterday instead of prison time, and it felt pretty damn good. Though I'm sure having a very sympathetic Crown attorney was a huge factor. Still. The judge went off and read the cases I had found on Quicklaw. My Inner Lawyer is all dewy-eyed.
- Think I'm going to stop TKD altogether for the next couple months, or at least until the boys are ready to do their black stripe tests. I'm way too old to go only once a week.
- Missing choir way more than I thought I would. ::sniffle::
- One reason to elect a judge-only trial instead of judge & jury: Client Is Hispanic, and Jurors Can Be Racist. While I'm not exactly surprised, it's still somewhat sobering to hear that straight from the horse's mouth.
- Girl Shoes hurt, yo.
- You know what? If either or both of my kids are gay/bi/trans/whatever, God help anybody who tries to make either of them feel like there's anything wrong with them because of that. No, I don't know what I'll do. I just know it won't be pretty.
