  • May campaign strategy a gamble

OMG please let this pay off. Chris is convinced that even if the Greens do get a seat, there will be some reason to keep them off the leader's debate next election. After all, he points out, Preston Manning was allowed to be part of the debate way back when, even though Reform had no seats at the time either, so it's not about seats.

I would like to not be so cynical. I am failing somewhat :(

  • Had a wonderful Easter weekend. Started with an easter egg hunt with highly photogenic tiny people, who thrilled the heck out of my kids, who are almost at the age where the thrill of finding easter eggs is not as great as the thrill of helping very small children find easter eggs.

Almost at that age. Not quite ;)

  • Then had a wonderful visit with Sarah and Colin, who Justin declared to have no flaws whatsoever. The only downside of the visit was that they had to go home eventually.

  • And today I walked past a van mired in the mud, and did my typical Canadian stop to offer help to the poor sod who's trying to get the hell out, while wondering how different it would be to do this in mud as opposed to snow. It was OK, though; he'd already called for help.

Then got a sunburn. Wth? Weren't we wearing jackets this morning?

Ended the day with TKD and grocery shopping, which was made more interesting with a hell of a downpour as we were coming out of the store. Ugh.

At least the tornado warning was no longer in effect for Ottawa. ::sigh::

Silly game: In honor of Friday's big wedding, use your royal guest name!

Start with Lord or Lady. Your first name is one of your grandparents' names. Your surname is the name of your first pet, double-barreled with the name of the street you grew up on. Post yours here.

Wow, this doesn't work for me at all. I'm either Lady Olga Alice-Sanchez-Fontecilla*, or Lady Adela Jehovah-Commanche.

No biggie, this having no name worthy to take along to the Wedding of the Decade. I'll just sit at home and wish the newlyweds all the best, probably some time in the evening when I log on and see the news bits on Yahoo news and go, "Oh crap right that was today!"

ETA: So I'm talking to Chris about this, and I tell him that while I wish the happy couple all the best, I really don't give a damn about their wedding. And I wish them all the best because I wish every married couple all the best, but--

Chris: Oh I wish them all the best a lot more than any other couple. I hope they have a totally perfect marriage. Because I don't want to read about their marriage in the freaking tabloids!

ETA 2: Oops, Sanchez Fontecilla was my grandmother's address. Mine was Vitacura.

Lady Olga Alice-Vitacura. Nope, still no snooty ring to it ;)
