yadda yadda and Lembas too
Oct. 5th, 2004 05:13 pmHome day. I feel like I got nothing done and lots done, you know? Like the stuff I thought would take forever took no time, and what I thought would be easy, was not.
Went and talked to Daniel's teacher about homeschooling Fridays. It was... good, I guess. But I'm somewhat dissatisfied. I guess I was really hoping that we would just continue to do homeschooling Fridays and his teacher would be totally on board and that would be that. And it didn't quite work out that way. She is pretty positive about the idea of homeschooling in general, but doesn't think Daniel missing a whole day of school every week is a good idea - at least, not Friday, because of what's supposed to happen at school on Fridays (basically an end-of-week party and an art class). She thinks two afternoons a week would be more doable.
So. I'll talk it over with Chris, talk it over with Daniel, see what works out. She seemed to think missing Friday activities was a big deal to Daniel - which he hasn't mentioned at all to me. It's hard to tell whether she's making too much out of it, or whether he's just not saying anything at home because it doesn't bother him till Monday. ::shrug:: We'll see. Who knows, Tuesday-Friday afternoons may work out best in the end.
In other news: Justin and I made Lembas Bread. Pretty good. Though one mouthful won't feed a grown man for a week, and it's hardly ambrosia, Justin really, really, really liked it. Then again, Justin will eat just about anything that isn't nailed down, so perhaps that's not saying much.
In other news: Santa came early and brought home (special squee that
shellmidwife will understand) Homicide: Life on the Streets season 5!!! Tim!!! And Frank!! And Mikey!! And Lewis!! And Luther Mahoney ::boo hiss::!!
So. Put boys to bed. Then off to watch people killing each other to funky music. Maybe that'll jar me out of an off-mood.
