Still not quite up to par with the MoonTime thing. Ugh.

Took the boys out to practice tricycling and bicycling without training wheels (Justin and Daniel, respectively). Justin did great, but Memo To Ourselves when we reach this stage with Justin: Don't take off one training wheel and leave the kid with only one wheel for a while. It doesn't help them learn to balance, it helps them learn to lean waaay over to the side with the wheel. Daniel was eventually able to go for a little distance without falling over, but we had a heck of a time getting him there.

Went to the Museum yesterday. One mom showed up with her kids (2 boys, 5 and 2). GREAT museum - lots of stuff for the kids to play with. I got a membership, and can picture spending many, many rainy days there.

It was neat to connect with another homeschooler, but... also a little sad. Like she said that one of the only things that makes this a do-able for her is that her husband is home almost all the time, and does a lot with the kids. Otherwise, if he had one of these really demanding jobs... no way.

Sigh. Really made me wonder how I can possibly even think about doing this.

One cool thing, though: we tracked down the two older kids (Daniel and Noah) and they had found a chess set and were playing together. 5 and 6 years old, thrilled to be playing chess. And not 'playing' as in hurling the pieces at each other, but actually moving them the way they're supposed to. Neat.

In good news, I saw an old L&O ep I'd never seen (Bait) and found a site with HLOTS fanfic I'd never read before. (FYI, it's http://www.sparkgirls.com/stories/violet/) HappyFanGirl :)

Bait was good, too - formula, but with a twist. And not the regular "Oh look! The Twist is that the guy who you thought did it DIDN'T DO IT!! How SHOCKING!!" because seriously, if you can watch a new L&O ep and really think that the cops are going to arrest the right guy right away, you obviously don't watch enough L&O.
