still plugging away
Dec. 16th, 2004 01:21 pmWent to Justin's class party this morning. My god, kindergardeners are cute. And there's such variety among them - the quiet ones, the loud ones, the ones who make a gingerbread house quickly with lots of enthusiasm, the ones that spend 40 minutes carefully spreading the icing on. just. so. They're such neat little proto-people.
Found out that this was Mrs. Breeze's first year ever teaching Junior K. She's only ever taught older kids before. All I can say is that if ever anybody showed a special calling in terms of what they should be doing with their lives, it's her, with JKs. Every time I've come to see her or volunteered in her class I've marvelled at her patience and untiring cheerfulness. Cute as they are, if I had to spend several hours a day every day dealing with 20 4-5 year olds, the only thing that would keep me cheerful would be massive amounts of gin.

Now working on ADR paper, which I'm trying to whip into something resembling "shape." I don't care what kind of shape - circle, square, rhomboid, whatever. I just want it to look like something that will eventually become a paper instead of a bunch of incoherent notes to myself. Unfortunately, this is one of the most coherent parts so far:
Talk about the one where they talk about safe apologies.
So and so talked about safe apologies, and advocated them. Also talked about how this is not really unethical: have a quote or two about this, from the Advising Clients article? Maybe?
Then the other one, where he says that it's totally unethical. This is one viewpoint.
I may be doomed.

Billy Boyd's voice in The Steward of Gondor is a little heartbreaking.
Home is behind
The world ahead.
And there are many paths to tread.
Through shadow,
To the edge of night
Until the stars are all alight
Mist and shadow
Cloud and shade
All shall fade
All shall...fade.

Trying not to think too hard about upsetting stuff. No time for that right now.
