Partly cross-posted to
recsjudicata.
- From the LOTR fandom, here's Aragorn and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, by Sarah.
- From
sugarkane_59's rec: The Book Of Fanfic.
- And from Justin's Company's Coming: Kids Cooking, a recipe for tomato soup cake. Yes,
Cake
Ingredients- 6 Tbsp butter
- 10 oz tomato soup
- 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground allspice
- 1/4 tsp table salt
- 6 Tbsp butter
- Preheat oven to 350F.
- Mix all ingredients in a large bowl, using a blender - although we did it with a fork and it turned out just fine.
- Put batter in greased cake pan and bake on the middle rack for 30 minutes or until a fork comes out clean.
- Take out and let rest.
- 4 oz cream cheese
- 2 Tbs butter
- 1 1/2 cup icing sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- Soften butter & cream cheese to room temperature.
- Mix all ingredients together until smooth.
- Spread on to cake

2) OMG that was funny! As a Mennonite I'm a particular sucker for anything in Biblical style.
3) I've made a Tomato Soup cake out of my old Menno cookbook from the 60s, and unless this one is significantly better, don't try this at home. To quote Guy from Galaxy Quest: "Oh, that's not right!"
