So, re. the exam... well, that was bad. Really, really bad, and not because I didn't get enough time to study. I'd never done a 'take-home' six hour jobbie, and didn't study the way I needed to or budget my time wisely during the exam. Spent the first several hours gathering information and making sure I hadn't missed anything, and figured it wouldn't take me more than two hours to organize.
Bzzt wrong. Handed in gibberish. Next time, other way 'round.
It was a hella learning experience. The one nice thing was that for once I'm glad I stuck around to talk to people after the exam. Normally I avoid that like the plague, but I didn't have a choice; we were lined up for about 15 minutes, handing in our papers, getting things checked off and verified and yadda yadda. And what I learned in line was, welcome to the club - the first-time take-home exam crash-and-burn-on-impact club. We are all praying for a very, very large wave to surf just in order to pass this bloody thing.
Unfortunately, not everyone was taking a take-home for the first time evah. It's a required course, but you can take it in 2d or 3d year. ::grrrrrrr:: to those 3d year students who will screw the rest of us. Grrrr, I say.
Oh well. So tomorrow I take all that I learned and apply it to my next exam, AdminLaw, which is on Friday.
Oh and BTW
sugarkane_59 you have no idea how much it defused the tension the other day when I read your "if I could I would offer to babysit" comment. The very thought of you doing your best to not kill my little darlings while I studied cracked me up and allowed me to get back to studying as opposed to seething at Chris' miserable job and boss. Thanks, sweetie :D :D :D
And now I'd like to say a few things about choir, but won't, because then I'll be up all night writing instead of going off to watchmy poor baby being shot OMG
jenniferjames hold me I think I'm gonna cry nooooooooooo! um, Law & Order. Ahem.
Quickie thing about choir: I got to hold a baby! And he was so cute and cuddly and beautiful and warm and snuggly and I sang with him in my arms while his mom sang with the altos and then, then, THEN, the very best part was that when he started to cry I gave him BACK!!
Wheee!

Date: 2005-04-14 02:03 pm (UTC)And trust me, I don't offer to babysit for just *anyone*. When my nephews were smaller, I couldn't even babysit *them* without wondering if I could justify homicide.
At least I have a contingency plan for Justin: Bring Barbies.
Sorry the exam went so crappy.
