conservatively speaking

Took my annoyance and made a little hat out of it.
I called the Tories (Toll free: (866) 808-8407, Phone: (613) 755-2000) and talked to a very nice lady who said Oh dear and connected me to a very nice man who said How can I help you, and I told them my tale ofwoe annoyance. Told the nice man that we will not be voting Conservative, ever, in large part because we believe in gay rights. To which he responded, "The Conservatives also believe in gay rights, ma'am, we just believe that marriage should be reserved for heterosexual couples only."
"That's nice," said I, "but to me that's not really believing in equal rights. And in any case, that's not the point. The point is that we don't want to be called any more."
"Yes ma'am. Can I get your name and phone number, then?"
"Sure!"
Gave him our particulars, told him we were getting to the point where we would actually, really, sue if called again, and thanked him for his time.
Then went to the Conservative website, and got in touch with them at
http://conservative.ca/english/touch.asp
where I filled in the following:
I have been called many times by the Conservative Party, and the last three times I have asked, very clearly, to be put on your Do Not Call list.
My husband and I will not vote Conservative. We do not agree with the Conservative stance on same-sex marriage. We do not wish to keep getting calls. We would like you to put us on a Do Not Call list and will actually take the local campaign office (or whoever keeps ignoring our requests to be left alone) to court if we are called again.
Thank you.
So. There we go. If they call again, I'll be subpoenaing y'all as witnesses and submitting my lj entries into evidence of the mental distress I have been subjected to over this issue.
Which probably means I should go through my lj and discreetly take down anything that may be used to incriminate me in a court of law ;)
