There are no words for how much I loathe The Land Before Time Parts II-XXXIV. The original was wonderful. The sequels bring me to tears.

And my kids adore them.

Ugh.

Ugh.

UGH.

Oh dear, do they really? Well, aside from that, they seem to have good taste. ;)

I agree. The first Land Before Time was so good, and then they had to go and make all those awful sequels... Disney did the same thing with... pretty much every movie they ever made. It's so annoying.

Yeah, and we've watched them all. Pocahontas II and The Lion King II and The Little Mermaid II and it just makes me weep. And the worst part? Kids actually seem to like the sequels even more than the original.

I mean, really. Whaddup?

What? You don't like heavy-handed messages about how to get along with bullies by being more friendly, how to tolerate diversity by befriending species who live UNDER THE SEA, and how to get in touch with a new variety of friendship by raising a T.Rex when one is usually a prey species for that animal? You must admit that it's really wonderful, how much brighter, more caring, and generally FAR more intelligent the children are then the adults, right?

Gah. Happily, YK seems to finally be outgrowing the series.

Yeah, today's gem was the multi-culti under the sea. ::gagging::

Happily, YK seems to finally be outgrowing the series.
You're so lucky!

And thanks for the glimpse of a light at the end of the tunnel :)
