Typed this off lj last night, for reasons that will soon become clear. It was one of Those Days.
- Went to the Bank of Hong Kong to finish up with my mom's accounts, and that went spiffily. In fact, I made 50¢, because I was given a $3 parking voucher by the bank, but was only charged $2.50 at the garage. Woo-hoo!
- Pretty much the last good thing that happened.
- Went to Ottawa U campus. Parked and went to get lunch at the law building.
- Law building cafeteria boarded up in summertime.
- Fine.
- To law library with hungry kids, to find an article I've owed my brother in law for an embarrassingly long time. Found it online. Yay!
- Over to the cafeteria at the Unicentre.
- Which didn't take credit, cash only, and I had none.
- Fine.
- To the general library to pick up the article, kids even hungrier. Looked in both places where the article was supposed to be. Not there. Not signed out, not missing, just… not there.
- OK...
- Took starving children to nice but over-priced campus restaurant, where they did take credit, thank god. Ate most of my lunch, ran off to put $ in the meter... and came back to see the waitress throwing out my lunch because "I thought you were done." Only had half a salad and a couple of bites of my wrap left, but I was sort of looking forward to eating them.
- Went to Fandom II. Parked. Paid for 45 min. Expensive in downtown Ottawa.
- Fandom II closed on Mondays.
- Oh for the love of...
- Home. Went to check my e-mail and sign into lj. Yahoo down. lj down. Our whole computer down, internet-wise.
- Checked the kids' computer, taking an awfully long time to do so because their mouse is gorked.
- The kids' computer also down, internet-wise.
- Turned everything off and on again, checked connections, etc. All checks out. Still no internets.
- Bloody hell.
- Need to call computer geeks to fix them. Both. Damn.
- Phone line dead.
- What the...
- Used cell phone to call Bell. Scratchy, unreliable cell phone. Booted me off twice while I waited on hold. Finally got through, and the nice Bell lady told me I'd get somebody in sometime tomorrow, which was good, as apparently the Bell technicians just got off strike and are so backlogged many customers are waiting 5 days to get repairs.
- Fine. Grocery store. On my bike.
- Which has the chain off and won't budge.
- ::weep::
- Got the chain back on.
- Went to the grocery store.
- Bought food.
- Came back.
- Will not leave home again.
- Ever.
- Spoke to Chris (who's on call) on stupid cell phone. Started my tale of woe and got as far as the library before Stupid Cell Phone booted me off. Again.
- Good luck on the Bar Exam,
bear!! Kick its butt but good.

It's one of my very favourite LOTR fics, written by one of my very favourite people, my friend Sarah (she's who I hope to be when I grow up). Enjoy!

Date: 2005-07-27 02:23 am (UTC)I'll have to try that next time I have a day like this. It'll probably make the kids giggle, which always helps :D :D :D
