- Busy day.
- Drove Chris to work. Went to Canadian Tire to buy a bike for Daniel. Bought it. Brought it home. Swept & tidied. Got computer expert set up in the study. Chatted with An. Tidied some more. Read a bit. Adjudicated a couple of sibling disputes. Chatted with An some more. Took pix of kids on their bikes - Daniel on the brand new one, Justin on Daniel's old one, and happily, somehow, Justin is more excited about getting Daniel's old bike than Daniel is about his new one. Went to bank to get cash to pay computer expert, as I do not currently have a credit card or personal cheques - all my cheques were related to my credit card. Talked over the computer situation with computer expert. Fed children dinner. Put children to bed.
- Why am I so tired?
- The children are in an absolute tizzy about going to Calgary. I'm... not really in that headspace yet. It might be a good idea to get into it.
- Explained fanfic and copyright to the children. Tried to, anyway. It arose from them overhearing me tell the story of the fanfic author who asked for donations to Chris. Little ears, I swear.
- Cannot seem to put together multi-idea sentences with multisyllabic words. ::shrug:: Simple is good.
- Started thinking about public breastfeeding the other day, in relation to fanfic. Yes, there is a connection, to me. Don't worry, you won't be able to figure it out ;)
- And speaking of fanfic, my discovery of fanart the other day led me to the following:
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince fanart
I'm so jealous. I can't do people poses worth a damn. Faces are about all I can manage; getting limbs to look anything like they belong to people and not oddly jointed mannequins is just impossible for me.

Date: 2005-08-12 04:33 am (UTC)Thanks for the heads-up! I had just bookmarked her site to visit every so often hoping for HBP updates, but this is much better. Now I don't need to take up bandwidth. Yay!

Date: 2005-08-12 05:05 am (UTC)Oh, I don't panic at explicit slash :) Wince? Sometimes. Cringe? Occasionally. Stand and enthusiastically cheer? Um, yeah, that too ;) But not panic.
It just amuses me that it still shocks me a little, despite the prodigious amounts of slash, good, bad, and indifferent, that I've read in at least ::counting:: 6-10 fandoms, depending on whether you count different Star Trek and Law & Order incarnations as one fandom or many. Mouth dropping open and shrieking out loud "And then Skinner did WHAT with his WHAT to Mulder??!!!" would have seemed charmingly naive to anybody watching me, that first time oh so many years ago when I was somehow totally ignorant of the word "slash" (despite having read Star Trek fic since I was about ten) and stumbled across in an X-File that I'd honestly thought was about Mulder and Skinner getting to know each other better on an out-of-town assignment.
Ten years later, though, it's just a little sad ;)
