OK, AFAIK I've never heard this song. I have only a hazy familiarity with the name Gwen Stefani. But this:
A probing analysis of Gwen Stefani's 'Hollaback Girl' is absolutely hilarious. And thanks to [livejournal.com profile] kalio_plaid, Chris and I got to read it and indulge in much snortlaughing :)
Excerpts:
  • Oooh, this my shit, this my shit
Gwen repeats this four more times. She wants to make sure that we are well acquainted with her shit.
  • Gwen is going to beat up the person who wronged her, after she completes the cheerleading routine that will inspire the football team to score a touchdown. Gwen has interesting priorities.
  • She is a complex antiheroine for an age of changing gender attitudes and expectations.

Me: What did we ever do before the internet?
Chris: We talked. We told stories, we laughed, we shared... it was hell.

Dude, methinks Gwen Stefani's career is going *downhill* from when she was with No Doubt.

And I've heard the song in question. It's frightening because it's *catchy*.

As for the comments between you and Chris, hee!

I'm not sure why, but this reminded me I've been meaning to ask if you've ever heard of the song by Bowser and Blue about Gwen Jacobs' breasts.

PS bork bork bork!

As the song fades out, Gwen is left only with her “shit,” the mindless
exercises that bring her no comfort from the raging emptiness within.
As much as she “hollas,” no one hears her cries for help.

That is too funny. Oh man.

I have always felt the internet saved an untold number of marriages. The worst thing you can do in a marriage is talk and share! ;)
