Holy Grail in our car
Aug. 15th, 2005 07:00 pmHave I mentioned yet today that I love this age? This was the conversation in my car this morning:
Daniel: WHAT is your name?
Justin: Justin!
Daniel: WHAT is your quest?
Justin: To get to Aunty
ninja_kat's house! Well, it's my Mama's quest.
Daniel: WHAT is your quest?
Justin: Nothing! Just to sit here in the car!
Daniel: WHAT is the average land speed of an unladen swallow?
Justin: African or European?
Daniel: European.
Justin: I don't know - AAAAAaaa!!!

Date: 2005-08-17 02:55 am (UTC)::snerk:: I bet.
One of my history profs was describing 'first source' materials to us, and he started to talk about manor records, birth and death notices, etc. At one point he said, "And so the historian can point to that, to show that for example this particular shepherd is dead. It's not from a synopsis of the manor records, it's a real death record. Showing that shepherd is really dead. The shepherd is no more. ::pause:: He is an ex-shepherd."
Looked quite pleased that we all got it :)
Another prof, talking about I don't know what, ended an explanation with, "And that's how they could say, 'Some day, my son, all this will be yours!'"
"What, the curtains?" immediately chimed in one of my friends.
MP. Timeless :)
