Today, we are all about the food:

  • Food pr0n, dessert recipe by Justin (I believe it's whipped cream with strawberry sprinkles, on top of neopolitan ice cream with chocolate syrup, with a brownie at the bottom and a popsicle for dipping):

  • Possibly the last back yard picnic of the summer:

Can you tell I've recently decided to watch what I eat again?

Oh and by the way, in reply to this post, yes indeed, the snake-eating-its tail symbol is called Ouroboros, its origins appear to be uncertain but are certainly ancient, it can symbolize perfection, eternity, Circle Of Life, futility, and possibly even non-phallicity (hee - I think I just made up a word).

And the truth was indeed out there; the image was from Dana Scully's lower back. This was back when she and Mulder were just making googly eyes at each other but too screwed up to actually do anything other than try to sublimate their hidden passion for each other by picking up weirdos with blood fetishes or homicidally jealous (uncredited-celebrity) talking tattoos, who invariably died soon after nookie (the weirdos, that is, not the tattoos or the uncredited celebrities.) Which made their boss Walter Skinner a little leery of getting involved with either of them, no matter what the Sc/Sk shippers and M/Sk slashers said, because he just knew he'd have an awfully short shelf life if he ever gave in to either of his secret passions for his subordinates. Don't even get me started on what would happen if he agreed to an OT3 threesome; we're talking spontaneous combustion in the (rather complex) act, I'd think. So instead he went and picked up a hooker who woke up all twisty-glowy and also very dead the next morning.

    ::sigh:: I miss the X-Files.

To Justin: Niiiiice. Well played, my boy. Well played.

*grin* Since he's not *my* five-year-old on a sugar high...

Yeah, there is that. Thankfully, it was really close to bedtime after a very active day :)

That dessert has to be the most disgusting thing I've ever seen.

How weird...

I know someone who looks just like the man in the hat (hubby?)! At least, as he appears in this picture. It kind of threw me for a moment.

That dessert looks like a stomachache waiting to happen. Urgh! I bet it was tasty. ;)

Also... it took a while for my friends page to load and I couldn't figure out why, until I loaded the thumbnail picture into a new tab and discovered it was actually the large picture file scaled down with HTML code. You may want to resize the images in a graphics editor to make thumbnails. :)

Oh, bummer. I didn't realize it made a difference. Thanks for the tip; I'll make sure to do that next time. Sorry!

De nada. I was hoping I was coming across as helpful and not pissy. :)

I'm going to refrain from making lewd comments about the danger of posting handsome shirtless men in your journal.

I thought you said "foodporn."

Whups.

::claps in delight:: That's about the best single paragraph description of X-Files ship I've ever read. :-) Also, the dessert is imPRESsive.
