much ado about so little
Sep. 8th, 2005 10:56 pmWell. That was one busy day. Let's see... other than tidying, taking care of the boys, overseeing Daniel's math and science and French stuff and other daily house maintenance work, I wonder how much of our To Do list actually got Do'd. What did I say this morning and yesterday?
After their bath we're going to get dinner started in the slow cooker [have lost my slow cooker cookbook! NO!],go to the bank to get them accounts, then the library to pick up books and sign up for book club. Plus do all the rest of the stuff we're supposed to do today.
must call (GAH!!) H&R Block re. my mom's last taxes [nope],Dr. re. Daniel's nose, computer lady re. fixing the network [ARG! No.], blah blah blah. And ... go to the Humane Society with the guinea pig [were told one of the kids on the street wanted it, and we were waiting to hear back from his parents... until we found out today that he'd never asked his parents in the first place]... and call
ninjakat and see if it's OK for me to visit [again, no - lost things and child emergencies and total lack of knowledge about tomorrow's plans got in the way], and call Guy to see how he's doing and try to drop off food/invite him to dinner [ditto], and... I know I'm forgetting something here.
Damn, considering it was a day in which so many things didn't get done, it's kind of puzzling that I never seemed to get a chance to sit down.

Trying very, very, very hard not to think about the clusterf - um, screwup, that is New Orleans. Too horrifying for words. And I have no idea what to say to my kids about it. How to explain how any of it could happen.
Also not sure how to explain the news about the 'We Do'/'No You Don't' gay marriage crap in California.
ARG. OK, I'm off to bed. And all my outstanding e-mails, comments, calls, etc will have to wait until tomorrow. When I'll have four kids in the house for most of the day.
Oh, never mind.
