I probably shouldn't tell you this, but I will anyway...one of my more traumatic childhood memories is of being sedated for that exact surgery...of course, the reason it was traumatic was that no one told me what they were doing, and I was screaming at the time because my ear doctor, who I was terrified of, had just come in. And they just laid me back and put this mask over my face and I couldn't breathe and...then I woke up with my parents. :) But at the age of 3 it was scary.
