Just finished watching Jesus Christ Superstar with the kids. Haven't seen it in a long, long time, and I'd forgotten just how powerful some of the scenes are. Pilate's Dream and Trial Before Pilate are just... gah. For some reason I've never understood, the exchange

PILATE
Then you are a king?

JESUS
It's you that say I am.
I look for truth and find that I get damned.

PILATE
But what is truth?
Is truth a changing law?
We both have truths.
Are mine the same as yours?

... gets to me somehow.

Oh, and. Somehow I'd forgotten just how campy King Herod's scene was. I blame heavy drinking.

Hee - barely made it into the "not-spoiled" category. This was written by and for people under the age of 20, I think. Although Chris believes it to be written by a teenager with sadly inaccurate ideas of what grownup life is all about ;)

BTW, does anybody know whether those "Current Location" things ever show up anywhere other than in the lj Update forms?

Whee, JCS! The first time Milo made a directed noise, it was in imitation of Simon Zealotes' primal yell bit in the video. I used to come home from work and lay him on my chest and play the video and we'd nap together.

I got about 15 of those. And I consider myself pretty darn spoiled, considering my station in life.

Also, some of those are just lame. Eating at the Space Needle? Not *that* big a deal. Really. And since when does paying for child care = being spoiled/having money? Ugh.

Oh, I just realized I only got 14, since apparently having a college degree with loans = not spoiled. (I will admit to owning more than 20 pairs of shoes, but in my defense, I have had some of those shoes since high school, and usually buy them at places like Payless.)

I think Chris has it right about the spoiled meme. Especially since if you blog google it and look for the earliest version you can find it includes items such as having a mom and a dad, your own room and, my personal favorites, construction paper and coloring books.
