Um (quick check) right now it's Granola Girl. I did one of those online "what kind of girl are you" quizzes and my completely-unsurprising-in-every-conceivable-way result is now an icon ;)
2. What's your current relationship status?
Married ten years. No time off for good behaviour.
3. Ever have a near-death experience?
I've had a bunch of times where I thought, "Oh my god, what a stupid way to die." Once was climbing up a waterfall, another was behind the library with this really weird unbalanced guy who had a crush on me and who I was embarrassed to be seen with in public. He said something like, "You know, I love you and... I would never hurt you" and I realized then and there that dying at the hands of a psycho because I was too good to be seen with him so I went behind the library with him was something I'd have to avoid at all costs in the future.
I was also hospitalized once with "Unstable Vital Signs." Not sure how close to death's door I was, but there sure were a lot of medical people hopping around me. I felt a little dizzy, too. And bloody. Very, very bloody.
4. Name an obvious quality you have?
Um. Breasts?
5. What's the name of the song that's stuck in your head right now?
Michael Jackson's "Thriller." Shut up.
6. Any celeb you would marry?
Gack, no. I'd have to get rid of their spouses first. And mine. And I'm sure somewhere in there I'd mess up hiding the bodies.
7. Who will cut and paste this first?
Hm... nope, no idea.
8. Name someone with the same birthday as you.
Nina, a girl who lived across the street from me and was five years older than I was. We used to call each other every birthday.
9. Do you have a crush on someone?
"Got three kids, married six years, and at night when I have dirty dreams they're about my wife." Name that quote :)
10. Have you ever vandalized someone's private property?
Hm... nope. Don't think so. Any vandalistic tendencies I have may have been scared off by a vandal at Queen's University who, in a fit of rebellion, went around the campus scrawling the command "Object" on posts, trash cans, signs, etc.
Except Chris pointed out that it could be read as a label, too. "Object."
11. Have you ever been in a fight?
I once pushed a kid off a pyramid of tires because he wanted to kiss me. He toppled to the bottom, hit his chin and got taken to the nurse. When he came back I apologized profusely, and he said, "That's OK, I still love you." I punched him.
12. Have you ever sung in front of a large audience?
Three years Nepean Youth Choir, three years Ottawa Regional Youth Choir, one year St. Mary's Cathedral Choir, two years Kingston Choral Society, one year HBLN Homeschool Family Choir, three years Harmonia Choir of Eastern Ottawa... yeah.
13. What's the first thing you notice about the OPPOSITE sex?
Ah... eyes? Yeah, I'll say eyes.
14. What do you usually order from Starbucks?
Some kind of mocha thing. Or chai.
15. Have you ever hurt yourself on purpose?
Depends on what on purpose means.
16. Say something totally random about yourself.
I type really fast and have made my kids Halloween costumes for the last few years.
17. Has anyone ever said you looked like a celebrity?
No, but I was told I looked just like one of the subs at my high school several times. Does that count?
18. Do you wear a watch? What kind?
Not for a couple years. The wristband kept catching on stuff.
19. Do you have anything pierced?
Ears, one in each lobe. I had one on the cartilege, but it didn't heal for seven years so I gave up.
20. Do you have any tattoos?
Nope.
21. Do you like pain?
Nope.
22. Do you like to shop?
Ick.
23. What was the last thing you paid for with cash?
Groceries yesterday.
24. What was the last thing you paid for with a credit card?
Probably groceries. I live on the edge.
25. Who was the last person you spoke to on the phone?
Chris.
26. What is on your desktop background?
Christmas in the Village of the Damned, from Going Jesus: Cavalcade of Bad Nativities.
27. What is the background on your cell phone?
Nothing.
28. Do you like redheads?
I love redheads in fiction (Dana Scully, Anne Shirley, most Darkover heroes, the Weasleys), but I don't know if I know any in real life. Wait, my friend Mark! And my brother in law! Yeah.
29. Do you know any twins?
Oh yeah. Pru, one of the moms who had kids when I had Daniel. And her kids, boy & girl twins. And another mom's twin daughters, same baby group. And another mom's twin sons. And Anne and Peter from my junior high. And Paul & damn I can't remember his name from my high school. And one of Chris' high school friends. And... yeah, lots. And when I was a kid my best friends were triplets consisting of a girl and two identical boys.
30. Do you have any weird relatives?
Doesn't everybody?
31. What was the last movie you watched?
Dead Man's Chest!
32. What was the last book you read?
Defender, part two of the second trilogy in the Foreigner series by C. J. Cherryh.
33. Did you or are you planning to go to college?
Not for much longer. I've already done a BAH, B.Ed, and am now on my Ll.B. That's a lot of letters, and a lot of official-looking bits of paper.
34. What is your favorite pair of pants that you own?
Shorts of any kind.
35. Do you like to party?
As much as I like to shop.
36. Where do you see yourself in five years?
Hopefully running an extremely part-time practice, maybe in an office near Chris'. Maybe even a little house with a law office on one floor, a shrink office on another, and a room where we can do home schooling. If the kids still want to, and we're all still speaking to each other enough to make that feasible ;)
