You be the judge.

ETA: And BTW, yeah, [livejournal.com profile] klostes, I cringe in embarrassed sympathy as well.

Not all homeschooler are like this, folks. A bit weird, yeah, probably; comes with the territory when you're swimming against any tide. But we're mostly harmless. Really.

I can't...

The Stupid, it BURNS, Jim! It BURNS.

Leaving aside the argument that dinosaurs survived the Flood (!!!) (I'm surprised she didn't drag in the coelecanth (sp?)), her argument for prose v. poetry is moronic.

Why, why must she make Christians look bad? And homeschoolers?

LOL!!

Burns like whoa.

Hee - coelecanths were one of the first things Chris said when I told him about this article. I love having geeky people around me in RL and e-L :)

For shits'n'giggles. It's easy and fun to do.

Chris actually asked if the article was a joke. It made me so, so sad to tell him that no, it really wasn't.

I'm plain frightened by anything that fundamental; homeschooling has nothing to do with it.

And on the topic of homeschooling, there's some regular articles on it on the CBC website lately. Have you seen them?

Yeah, me too. I can't help thinking God, if he exists, gave us all brains for a reason, and it's kind of rude to refuse to use the gifts he gave you.

Oh, no I hadn't. I'll go take a look. Are they any good?

Okay. You owe me an aspirin for the bruise on my jaw. It hit the table pretty damned hard.

I can't believe that there are people who are this näive existing in a technological society. I have a hard time believing they existed in a pretechnological society, too, although people were somewhat more credulous about certain aspects of the supernatural then.

The problem isn't that there are people who are still credulous about certain aspects of the supernatural, but rather that they insist that others go along with it as well.

Oh, I'm not. My faith in human stupidity is boundless.

I hate, hate, HATE that this kind of claptrap is out there making it doubly or triply hard for the rest of us to convince the world of that "bit weird, but not really" truth. As for mostly harmless, well, yeah, as harmless as iconoclasts and rebels ever are. *g* As you said: Really.

Hee!

BTW, I saw the t-shirts your kids bought. Damned if I didn't want to go and get a "Fine, I evolved, you didn't" shirt of my own :D :D
