Dilemmas, dilemmas. I've got two RL and one URL problems going on, and nobody to talk to about them, and no time to write them out. Arg.

Right around now I could really use a roomate or floormate or something. You know when you've got stuff whirling around and need some feedback and just walk down the hallway to tap on the door of whoever doesn't seem to be studying all that hard at this moment? Doesn't have to be a best friend; just somebody to go Mm-hm, Yeah, Bummer, Maybe, I don't think so, and That should work.

Does anybody have a sixteen-year time-turner?

Well, if I'm not the problem, feel free to bend my ear.

LOL no, you're not the problem :D :D :D

Actually, for my UnRealLife problem, I was looking at it and thinking you'd probably get a kick out of it. It involved fandom and an interesting approach to beta'ing. An approach that basically took every line of a story that I thought I had done well and subtly and concisely and dumbed it down to make it suitable reading for toddlers. Eg, "Lucius gave Narcissa a slow smile" => "Lucius gave Narcissa a slow smile, indicating that he had understood what she said and felt the same way she did, and really liked the way her mind was so much like his. They were really very well matched."

Um, yeah, thanks. I'll... get right on that.

... Yeah. There's sometimes a need to keep things simple enough for the average reader to understand, but if they can't understand what it means when one character smiles at another, there are bigger issues than fanfic to be resolved.

Nothing beats going across the hall and down a few doors, does it?

And shush about the 16 years, tell me it hasn't been that long!

Nope. Or a few floors up :)

And shush about the 16 years, tell me it hasn't been that long!
::sobs:: I can't. It has been. Doh.

I know the feeling--I often find myself missing college desperately just b/c I miss having Keebler and [livejournal.com profile] bear and all of my other friends right down the hall/across the quad.

You're welcome to dump on me via e-mail if you find time/need to. :)

You get so spoiled for friends in college. I had no idea how much until I didn't have that any more. ::sigh::

Thanks :)

I know the feeling, even if I didn't have that particular bonding experience - although I think that six years at a girls' school is probably pretty similar.

When this happens, my long distance bill tends to go up. Still, it's the least-expensive therapy/running it past someone I know of.

Heh, yeah, I would think so :)

When this happens, my long distance bill tends to go up.
It's funny how little I think of the phone these days. It just never occurs to me to use it other than to answer it and occasionally get in touch with people I can't reach through e-mail, like my son's school to let them know he won't be coming in.

What a waste of a perfectly good resource. Huh.
