Anne told me once that her son Garry, who used to come to kids' D&D every week, had told her he didn't want to fill up on lunch because we always served "special D&D food".
You know what we serve every week? Fruit and lightly buttered popcorn. I chop up apples, bananas, pears, whatever we've got, bring it out to the table, and as fast as I can chop it, it gets wolfed down. And the popcorn also doesn't last long.
I feel like I'm doing my part for healthy eating and combatting childhood obesity, you know? It would be easy to give them cookies or chips or pop, but we just weren't organized enough to do that, when we first started, and the fruits went over so well that we decided to stick with it.
Kids really will eat healthy food, if they're not distracted by junk. I have proof :)
