ciroccojWow, I feel so... free!
I was supposed to finish and send in my Aboriginal paper draft Tuesday night, and had planned to spend Wednesday re-connecting with Daniel, relaxing, and maybe puttering about the house a bit, then spend Thursday tidying the house to get it ready for HBLN chat night (AKA Ottawa home schooling parents meet as grownups) and visiting Marie and her kids. I had a vague thought of even baking cookies for the chat night. Turned out we got another day to work on the paper, so... still re-connected with Daniel, still puttered, but was notsomuch with the relaxing thing.
Sent the paper in Wednesday, went to choir (and oh my GOD we're singing Freedom Trilogy again! Only my FAVOURITE CHOIR SONG EVER EEEEE!!!), and then had today to clean the house to get ready for the HBLN thing. Wasn't particularly looking forward to it, other than the fact that Marie had said she was coming, so I was less than thrilled when three people called to ask if it was still on.
I cleaned. For three bloody hours. Made my house a lot bigger, and my bedroom a lot smaller, by hiding all miscellaneous boxes & crap piles in my room. It's fine as long as I don't think about it. Oh and I'm not sure where we'll sleep tonight.
Finished tidying and asked Chris (who had stopped by the grocery store to pick up a fruit platter, veggie platter, and cookies) "Is it wrong to hope that nobody comes except Marie?"
"After all the work you've done, tidying?"
"Well yeah, but... I don't feel like entertaining anybody."
Long story short, she was the only person who showed up, thank god, so we continued our conversations from earlier in the day, munched on the wonderful fruits and veggies and cookies, the boys got to watch TV with dinner instead of being shunted off upstairs, and now I've fulfilled my obligation to HBLN, my house is clean, I'm done with my Aboriginal course, and I'm FREEE!!!!!
