ciroccojOn a weird note, here's a Women's Issue going on right now in my own home town:
Muslims grumble at Quebec soccer hijab ban
The kid at the centre of all of this is from Ottawa. Plays on the Nepean Hotspurs in the under-11s. She was told to remove her hijab or leave the field during a tournament in Quebec, then sent off the field (by a Muslim ref, BTW). The rest of her teammates walked off with her, and four other Ottawa teams pulled out of the tournament in sympathy. Now it's being talked about internationally.

Spent four hours mostly walking outside today, as the windchill hovered around -30C (-22F). Got a lot done (Justin's eyes checked, library run, bookstore, food/art supplies bought, etc) but may possibly skip skating tomorrow. ::shivers::
