Daniel: (looking a bit red-eyed, though he hasn't been crying) The Fred thing is my new least favourite part of the book. ::pause:: Unless Lupin gets killed.

Eeeek. How did you manage to not make a face and give it away?

Actually, I wasn't sure I shouldn't give it away, so I was trying to figure out whether to say anything or not but he went back to reading, so it became moot.

Oh, poor Daniel! :(

I remember when my mom was reading Lord of the Rings to my brother and me. I think he was 8 and I was 10? Possibly 7 and 9. Anyway. When we got to the part where Frodo "died," (after he was bitten by Shelob), my brother and I both started crying. She was like, "No, no, don't worry! He's not really dead!" LOL

LOL yeah, I wish :)

I read The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe to Daniel when he was around four. When we got to where Aslan "dies", he was so angry he grabbed the book from my hand, threw it across the room, and yelled that he didn't want me to keep reading that stupid sad book. I finally convinced him to let me finish by telling him that it was a children's book and children's books always had happy endings because, really, who in their right minds would write a children's book that would make children cry?

Um, yeah.

Poor guy. I was also feeling the same. How could she *spoilers*

Yeah, me too. Actually Tonks and Lupin were the only deaths that actually pissed me off. I know she probably wanted to have something in there about another war resulting in another baby orphaned just like Harry was, but... enough already. We got it, War is Bad, Good People Die Too, let's not belabour the point all the way into pointlessness.
