Thank you for contacting Dell Customer Care.
I apologize for the delay in responding to your email. I would first like to say that I am truly sorry for all the difficulties you have encountered in regards to having the ownership transfer of your system completed. I know that Canada to Canada request are usually completed very quickly, I plan to look at this further for you and hopeful get the transfer done as quickly as possible for you.
In regards to the power supply that you need, I noticed that the system in questions warranty expired in 2005, which means that you will have to purchase the power supply for the system. I have contacted our Service Parts department and I had them create a quote for you for the power supply. Quote number is 24792417 and the cost with shipping and taxes will be $70.06. If you call our Service Parts department at 1 866 440 3355 options , and give them that quote number they will be able to place the order for you and have the power supply sent to you.
I know that you are frustrated with this situation and approciate you sending all the email correspondence that you have sent us, I know that somewhere in these emails you listed your personal information in regards to the ownership transfer. I would like you if you could to please send me one email with your mothers information and your information and I will see if I can get the ownership transfer completed quickly for you.
Again I apologize for all the inconvenience you have encountered in regards to this issue and thank you very much for your continued patients. Your Dell case reference number in regards to this issue remains 101010101.

The latest news?
I have my computer back! It is working perfectly, humming along beautifully, all my files where they ought to be, all is right in the world.
And this has absolutely nothing to do with the correspondence above.
Random techiedude came to fix our kids' computer. Asked if there was anything else he could help us with once he was done, and Chris mentioned my dead computer and the fact that we'd been waiting for a transfer of ownership for two months. Techiedude says, "Why are you doing that? I've probably got the part back at the shop. Want me to install it for you?"
"Sure!"
41 hours and about $60 later, I had my computer back.
No love, Dell. No love at all.
