OK, anybody remember the Lego Darth Vader Eddie Izzard routine I linked to a few weeks ago?
The boys have been saying "Death by Food Tray it shall be!" and "All right, I'm Jeff Vader!" and "Give me Penne a la Arrabiata or you shall die!" ever since I showed them the link (to my delight, they have not repeated the f-word parts) and the other day I got curious, went looking, and found:
http://recipes.epicurean.com/recipe/4161/penne-alla-arrabiata.html
Ingredients:
4 cups- ripe roma(plum) tomatoes
half an onion sliced
4 cloves garlic crushed and chopped
pinch of basil
pinch of crushed chili pepper
fresh chopped parsley
extra virgin olive oil
salt to taste
500grams (1 lb) of penne
Directions:
We had it for dinner tonight. It's quite good.

Directions:
- Begin to boil the water for the pasta, peeling and seeding the tomatoes and chopping coarsley while you wait for the water to boil.
- Begin penne.
- In a sauce pan, brown onions in the olive oil, then discard (onions).
- When the pasta is al dente, put the tomatoes, garlic, chili, basil and salt in the saute pan and cook over high heat for four minutes.
- Put in the penne and parsley, continue cooking for one minute.
- Serve with grated aged pecorino cheese (parmesan works too).
