Plodding along

- Am so mind-numbingly BORED studying for the Solicitor exam. And so eager to get this *&^%ing thing over with. I feel a lot better prepared for this one than I did for the Barrister part, but part of me wonders how much of that is the fact that I had six months extra to study for it, and how much is the fact that I understand so little about business law that I can't even tell that I don't know my *ahem* from my elbow here.
- Will have to miss choir tonight. Boo.
- Our Remembrance Day concert went pretty well last night. With one minor glitch - we had to restart a song halfway through. *gulp* Other than it, relatively smooth sailing. The sopranos, who had been missing some small and some rather glaring parts, managed to get it together, mostly, by the concert itself.
Eep moment: there was one part where we were supposed to be background, and had been mucking it up consistently, and at the dress rehearsal we... kinda didn't sing it. Our director's comments at the end of the song? "Tenors, remember to watch the entry here, altos, bring it out a bit more over there, and sopranos, good job, whatever you did on page 3, do it again, it was nice."
We'll see how it sounds on the recording. Really looking forward to hearing it; especially the men's Navy Hymn. It's so nice to have more than two tenors! - Am once again doing the MS Readathon for home schoolers. Last year we raised $750 among about twenty kids. Hope we can beat it this year. Justin's reading skills have shot up dramatically again, just as they did last year when we did it. He just needs motivation.
- The boys raised $650 by themselves selling Scout popcorn. Unbelievable. These are not my children; I think of all the fundraising I had to do as a kid, for school and choir and various sundries, I may have sold about four pots of gladioli. Gladiolae? Too shy to be able to knock on strangers' doors. My kids? Not a problem.
- From my Solicitor Study Materials, Chapter 37, "Real Estate Law: Requisitions"
Replying to a letter of requisition: Requisitions of the buyer that are of a general nature or of matters that should be investigated or can be satisfied by the buyer's solicitor are answered:
Kindly satisfy yourself.
Is is just me, or does anyone else get a snicker out of that one?

Ooh ... a euphemism! ::snicker::
