And I have no idea why. It just feels so busy this week.
- Got the new car, still have to go sign a couple things tomorrow.
- Kids forgot they had a Native Studies project to finish by today; I found out about it yesterday. They finished them, but Sad Times all around. Justin ended up crying by night time, just from stress and overbusyness.
At Chris' suggestion, he dealt with his bad feelings by screaming, smashing a door with a hammer - no, it's OK, we've all had at it this week; it's been great fun and very cathartic, and the door has now been taken away by the city - and, in the end, finishing his work with his fluffy pink and pale purple unicorn snuggled on his lap. - Visited a friend we hadn't seen in a long time. Really wish Justin would play more with other kids; he always seems to either be left out, or leave himself out if he doesn't care for what the other kids are playing.
- Justin: You know the worst thing about the modern age? Reason and logic. Whenever there's something really cool, you can always explain it away.
- Blue belt testing tomorrow. Slightly stressful.
- Trying to write a story on a deadline is not happymaking right now. Am severely tempted to just chuck it.
- Remember the American Civics Quiz? Daniel scored 54.5%. He was disappointed with his score.
I asked him four questions: How old are you? (eleven) Are you American? (no) Have you ever studied American history or civics? (no) Are you an elected official? (no)
Then buck up, kiddo. Most American adults surveyed failed the thing, and elected officials did even worse. You're not doing so bad.
Don't think this gets you out of learning the Gettysburg Address, though. - I say many things to my kids. This woman has apparently been following me (and other moms) around with a recording device: The William Tell Overture sung by a mom
- Am really, really looking forward to spending tomorrow mostly at home, reading with the kids, going over our test material, and tidying a bit.
- Really looking forward to being done with the belt testing.
- Really, really looking forward to moving ahead on the articling/job thing.
