Side note: My choir sang this entire song this year, to a slightly different tune than you normally hear. It was a Mark Sirrett composition. Mark Sirrett convinced me that not all Canadian choral composers were blots upon our national honour. I'd love to hear our recording, 'cause it sure sounded lovely onstage; unfortunately, a baby cried all the way through the song, so the recording is probably unsharable.
