Pros and cons

One of the things that's great about home schooled kids is that they have no shyness around adults, so you can end up having great conversations with them. The downside is that when you have them over to play with your kids, and you're looking forward to having some alone-time now that your kids are entertained by another child... they come and talk to you. A lot. And won't. go. away!

Oh, gods, it took me a while to get my boys' homeschooled friend trained to believe that this mother was Not. An. Interactive. Model! In some ways, it's been easier dealing with training their public school friends not to ignore me, that yes, I am a person and I will treat them as such, too.

ah, the ups and downs of home schooling... ;-) Mostly ups, though.

Yeah. I'd rather have the first problem than the second, and I really like kids who treat adults like people, but... too much of a good thing sometimes, yk?
