ciroccoj | It never rains, but it leaks

So we're getting ready for a 22-day visit. We're doing the regular clean-before-visitors thing, except a little more so because my aunt has always been a very tidy person and my niece apparently has asthma.

After a chilly, wet summer, it's hot and muggy and perfect for not moving around. Not so perfect for sweeping and dusting and scrubbing.
Broke the showerhead while scrubbing the bathroom walls.
Guys came by to install a new water tank, while I was in the middle of scrubbing the inside of the fridge. Had to use rainwater to rinse it off.
Water filter in the kitchen leaked and everything below the sink (various flours & other paper/cardboard-contained things), so they're all spread all over the kitchen now.
Forgot one of Daniel's friends was supposed to come visit today. It's a measure of what a good kid he is that we opened the door, went "OMG Rick! Right! You were supposed to come for a visit today!" and that was that, because Rick's no trouble at all. I can think of a couple other kids whose presence on a day like today would be an unmitigated disaster, but we don't need to worry about Rick.

I'll have to remember to tell his mom or dad that when they come pick him up.

Now Chris is on the phone with the water filter people. Dying of heat. House is a mess. Temperature 32°C, 36°C with humidity. That's 89.6°F and 97°F. Not horrible, but hotter than it has been so far this summer, and no fun at all to clean in.
