  • Going to get breakfast at the hotel today, I sent the kids ahead and then got unexpectedly delayed for a few minutes. Came out of the room and heard kids shouting rather loudly, and realized I'd been hearing them from inside my room as well, while I searched for the room key.

    Oh damn. It's 8:30, in a hotel, and Daniel and Justin and Paula are playing tag or something, in the hallway, waking up other guests and *&^% I am going to kill them because damn it, they know better! I speed up, and the hallways are endless, and they keep getting louder, and I don't know about Paula's upbringing but I know I taught my boys better than this and they are nine and twelve years old and they know better and... hang on, that doesn't sound much like them...

    Turn the corner and find three boys, ages 6-14 or so, playing hockey in the hallway. With sticks and net and everything. They've been at it for a while. They even have equipment. This is not a momentary "kids got away from their supervisors" moment.

    OMG!parenting fail, people. OMG.

  • Searching for stuff to do in Niagara Falls, I come across the website for Nightmare Fear Factory. And come across this ad:

    Dont miss out, this is the longest running and scariest haunted house in all of North America! Don't believe us..well, we didnt get our reputation kissing babies! Come experience for yourself, or ARE YOU TO CHICKEN??? Open daily year round from 11am.

    Not to be a nitpicker, but... you folks can't even make your ad grammatically correct. Don't think I'm going to hand over my cash to you. Besides, there's another haunted house in the city, and they know the difference between to and too and appear able to punctuate correctly.

*waves from down the road and across the river* (buffalo) I too have experienced the kids in the hotel hall playing hockey - in my case supervised by a dad who was all proud of himself for taking the kids out of the room so his wife could sleep. Didn't seem to occur to him that other people might have wanted to be sleeping too! Have a great time at the Falls!

Heh, I have friends living by the Niagara Falls. :D They say that Lundy's Lane has most of the more reasonable-priced places on it.

{One of them, Karl, is a chef in the Revolving Dining Room at the Skylon Tower. Food's sort of pricey there, $50-$100 per person, but if by some miracle you do go there, please send Karl a note: "Imouto-chan is stalking you!"}
