It is 7:25PM, 11°C, cloudy, no rain, wind or snow, and the number of trick-or-treaters at our house just more then doubled.

...to seven.

Yes, up till now there had only been three kids.

?!

OK, I know, swine flu and changing demographics and all that, but seven?!

We're not getting that many,either, but I attribute that mostly to the fact that our neighborhood is older, with no sidewalks and few streetlights. They're building lots of newer ones around with nice and bright sidewalks and lights. Didn't even think of swine flu. But yeah...

We had the beautiful weather too -- and maybe 25% of our usual trick or treater numbers! Without any newer, nicer neighborhoods going in nearby. My local couple of blocks is teeming with young families (I get about one new request per week saying, "Does EK like to babysit?") and yet, there were only about twenty kids total, all night. And six of *those* were the homeschoolers I invited to share halloween at our place.

Something's funny this year. Maybe Swine Flu accounts for it?

What's sad? I remember those sermons. I remember how much our church hated Halloween, and yet, had a "Harvest Festival" where the kids dressed up and got candy. Yeah, okay, it's all EVOL! Bah.
