Took the Pew Forum's How Much Do You Know About Religion mini-quiz. Got 15/15, though I guessed on the last question. So, pretty much as expected, as their survey report says, as the people who scored highest in their phone poll were atheists and agnostics, followed by Jews and Mormons.

Anyway. Interesting.




ETA: Tracked down the whole thing and got all the religious knowledge answers right, though I'm embarrassed as heck to admit that I would've answered that Maimonides was Muslim if asked. Yes, all of my Jewish/medieval history buff friends can now mock me with impunity. And I would've said Averroes was Jewish, though he wasn't on the quiz at all. ::sigh::

I took this quiz and got 13/15. I didn't know about Job *headdesk* and I'm supposed to be Catholic - and I didn't know about school teachers being allowed to use the Bible as a eg for lit. But then, I'm not American. I guess it was kinda easy for me because I've been brought up in the Christian faith as well as the Hindu faith. I also have loads of Muslim friends. *shrugs*

I guessed incorrectly on the last question. On the positive side, I didn't guess Billy. Clearly the more you know about religion, the less likely you are to believe. (Okay, that's only one interpretation - but I like it and I'm sticking with it! :D)

... I don't know whether to be excited that I did fairly well (better than their averages, at least) or whether to find that really depressing. And I did significantly better than most of my fellow Protestants, which is kind of frightening, considering how uneducated I consider myself on matters of religion.

I scored 100%, too. But then, religion interests me, and I think people who don't know the tenets of their own faith are embarrassing.
