Random blipping through life...

• Pi Day was awesome. Made eleven pies (4 quiche, 3 apple, 2 pumpkin, 2 blueberry). Did not eat all of them.
  
  
• I was hating Daylight Savings yesterday, loving it today. I was so thrilled when it was still reasonably light as I got home last Friday, around 6PM... and then I got home tonight at 6:30 and it was still daylight. Brilliant!
  
  
• Two ditzy high school girls on the bus today, long high-school-shenanigan-related conversation in rapid-fire English, French, and Arabic, mostly about boys and fashion and texting and homework, and then one of them says, "OMG remember I was gonna get that iPod on EBay?"
  
  "Yeah?"
  
  "I'm never gonna get it now."
  
  "I thought you already paid for it?"
  
  "Well yeah, but the guy's in Japan. I don't even have the heart to ask, you know? Oh hi, I know you're like probably totally homeless, but do you, like, still have my iPod?"
  
  So, ditzy high school girl with a heart. Good for her. I think she figured rather than donating money to some Japan fundraising thing, she would just let her vendor keep her payment. The guy may not have much right now, but for whatever it's worth, at least he's got a bit of $ from an Ottawa girl who isn't gonna ask for it back.
  
  
• It's one thing to hear a client say, "Catch ya next time!" right after you get them off. It's another to actually catch him next time. ::sigh::
  
  
• Bit of a mind-trip, watching The Princess Bride and Criminal Minds on the same day. FBI Agent Jason Gideon hardly ever says, "Hallo. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die."

Aww. That's really sweet, actually. I was really, really concerned for a minute there about what she was going to say, but then it turned around! Yay, ditzy high school girl with a heart!

Oh me too! I was all braced for tsunami jokes, or for whining about how difficult it was going to be to get her money back.

I wanted to give her - and her ditzy friend, who commiserated about the loss of iPod but totally agreed with her - a hug. Would've puzzled the heck out of them though ;)
