Obsolescence: I has it
Apr. 29th, 2011 07:17 pmThe boys got gift cards for electronic-type materials. They discussed combining them. They looked up what they wanted, with some help from Chris. They counted up their resources. They decided on what to buy.
They found out a local place had some deals in place. They wrote down a bunch of questions to ask the store dudes. They went to the store. They asked their questions and listened to the answers, they discussed things, they decided on what to buy, and they bought. I bought a warranty for them, and carried the thing in my backpack on the bike ride home.
They got home and unwrapped everything, then set about reading the instructions and putting everything together. They overcame many obstacles, ended up calling a friend to ask for help, did what said friend told them to do.
They are now about to start playing on their own X-Box. Except for a bit of shopping advice from Chris and a couple of installation tips from their friend, they did it all themselves.
Also: thank you, Auntie Sarah and Uncle Colin!
