What the heck is that?

Back home after a busy day, and my lower right leg itches like billy-oh. I scratch at it absently a few times, then take a look at it. The itch is concentrated near my ankle, and it's a weird kind of rash, with large-ish red bumps, fairly far away from each other in a very irregular pattern. The itch is concentrated heavily on the bumps - and there's far fewer of them than you'd expect from a rash. In fact, there's really only four. We went camping at Fitzroy Harbour this weekend, and I don't recall walking through any kind of bush, and besides wouldn't poison ivy/sumac/whatever start itching right away? I wonder if anyone else in the family walked through the same thing. I wonder what the hell it was. Besides, what kind of rash only gives you four large, red, very itchy bumps...

... that's right, folks, you're reading an entry by someone simple enough to have totally forgotten what mosquito bites look and feel like.
