I just got my mail, and it included an invitation from U of O to join the "Golden Key International Honour Society". Yee-ha, I think. I haven't even graduated yet and they're already pestering me for money. Like they don't get enough from me in tuition.
Opened up the letter out of curiosity, and apparently it's not just a money grab. It's a money grab, plus flattery. Apparently, membership to Golden Key is restricted only to those elite beings who have achieved in the top 15% of their class, after at least one year of their degree.
Which makes me giggle, because, see, I haven't completed a year yet. I'm half-time. That means I've completed half of my first year, and am doing the second half right now. And there is no guarantee that this year I will be able to remain awake long enough to maintain my position in the top 15% of my class.
Bright people, but not too good with math, these Golden Keyers :) :)

Flattering, but I wonder where they thought I was going to get the money?
